PARTING THE WATERS: Congressman proposes diverting Labrador Current to end icebergs

calder

The Boston Daily Globe has the details on this interesting proposal by Rep. William M. Calder (D – NY) who, unmoved by the positive aspects of icebergs, evidently wishes to do everything possible to avoid future disasters similar to the sinking of the Titanic.

Perhaps generations from now we will be able to look back at the bill submitted by Rep. Calder and tell our children that this was the moment when the rise of the icebergs began to slow and our planet began to heal. Until then, all one can do is say to the congressman:  good luck with that.
